Randall BosticLAS VEGAS, NV – They are called “The Bad Boys of Funk” by their industry peers because of their distinctive signature sound. Hailing from Buffalo, New York their brand of Funk ruled the airwaves from 1978 until early 90’s.The band enjoyed tremendous success as the late “King of Punk Funk” Rick James recording and touring band aka The Stone City Band. This legendary band has performed live on numerous TV shows such as, The Grammy Music Awards, Saturday Night Live, The American Music Awards, and Soul Train just to name a few. They are responsible for cranking out the music for hits like Fire & Desire, Give It To Me Baby, In My House, Mary Jane, Super Freak, You & I, and All Night Long to name a few. Their sound can still be heard today in movies, countless recordings, TV/Radio and commercials as well as samplings by many of today’s Hip Hop artists.
Today, band members can be found rehearsing and producing tracks for their first album in 30 years. Their new single “Turn It Up” will drop in July and their “Funk n Roll”Tour  will kickoff on July 12, 2013 at The Tralf Music Hall in Buffalo, New York. This show will celebrate the Music, Life and Legacy of their brother and fearless leader Rick James. A special musical tribute to (Ms. Lady T) Teena Marie will be just one of many highlights in the show and will feature a stunning performance by the band’s latest discovery Hawaiian native, Sheli “Baby Funk” Casana on lead and background vocals.

(Keyboards/Vocals) Also joining the band from Detroit Mich, is P-Funk alum Jimmy Ali, (Bass Guitar) and hailing from Youngstown, Ohio Randall “R2” Bostick (Lead Vocals) and joining them on stage will be The Punk Funk Horns and The MJG’s aka The Mary Jane Girls on select dates.  
There’s no doubt that this highly anticipated Funk Extravaganza, “The Bad Boys of Funk” aka Rick James’ Original Stone City Band is back and ready to Fire up That Funk! So be on the lookout for OSCB in a city near you this summer.


The Stone City Band was formed in 1978 by The King of Punk Funk, Rick James. This band served as Rick’s exclusive Recording and Touring Band from the beginning and through the height of his career. They were responsible for cranking out the sounds to timeless hits such as You & I, Super Freak, Mary Jane, Bustin Out, Ghetto Life, Fire It Up, Fire & Desire, Standing On The Top, All Night Long, Boys, In My House and many, many more. They have performed on numerous television shows such as, The Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, Soul Train Music Awards, Saturday Night Live, Dick Clark’s Rockin New Years Eve, and many more. Their recording efforts have produced numerous Gold and Platinum albums. They also recorded three albums for the Motown label. Meet The Stone City Band, In N Out, and The Boys Are Back. THE BAD BOYS OF FUNK ARE BACK!! Rick James Original Stone City Band is presently in the studio recording a new album and rehearsing their show to coincide with a planned world tour. Dates are now being accepted for shows. Some of which will included their sisters, The Mary Jane Girls. This highly anticipated Funk Extravaganza will celebrate the life, music, and legacy of their leader, mentor and friend RICK JAMES.

The band will feature original members: Lanise Hughes (Drums)  Billy Nunn (Keyboards & Vocals)/Nate Hughes (Percussions & Vocals) and Tom McDermott (Lead Guitar) also on board is Jimmy Ali (Bass Guitar) Kapp Ivory (Keyboards & Vocals), and Randall “R2” Bostick (Lead Vocals & Bass Guitar)
